Trained in visual communication and the decorative arts in Paris, Christophe has been working since the mid-1980s at the intersection of imagery, design, and digital technologies.
Starting out as an art director, illustrator, and designer, he developed a passion for computers and programming early on. As technology evolved, he helped introduce desktop publishing, 3D computer graphics, multimedia, and eventually the Internet to the agencies where he worked. A consistent theme emerged in his career: understanding new tools, experimenting with them, and then using them to give shape to complex subjects.
Starting in the 2000s, his collaborations with the scientific press, the CNES, and the European Space Agency reinforced this focus on scientific illustration and communication.
In 2012, he founded Imascience with the goal of bringing together under one roof skills that are typically separate: scientific illustration, 3D animation, programming, interactivity, and educational design.
Today, he is primarily responsible for artistic direction, project analysis, and the design of interactive experiences. Depending on the problem at hand, the solution may be an illustration, a film, a virtual reality experience, an app, or a physical simulator.
Because after forty years of seeing several generations of technologies emerge and then disappear, one conviction remains: the tool itself matters less than what it helps us understand.
